Komebukuro Kit

Traditional Komebukuro Rice Bag Kit

$ 55.00
Komebukuro (Rice Bag) is a Japanese patchwork drawstring bag traditionally used for taking rice or beans as shrine or temple offerings. The basic design is similar to many other kinchaku drawstring bags which were a common feature of everyday life in Japan for hundreds of years. This pattern can be adapted to make a variety of bags in different sizes and fabrics.

The kit contains original antique Japanese indigo-dyed cotton and will vary in pattern (but not character) from that shown in the photo. Every bag will be unique.  The finished bag is 24cm high with a base 15cm x15cm
