Himejikawa Tobacco Pouch
Himeji leather tobacco pouch with manju netsuke.
This characterful 19th century tobacco case is crafted in distinctive white Himejikawa leather which is a traditional product of Himeji which was originally used for armour and helmets in pre-modern Japan. It is finished with a fine metal peony design clasp and other fittings. There is some wear but is generally in good condition. Please ask if you'd like to see more photos. It is attached by mulitple chains to a round manju type netsuke with a metal inlay also in a peony design. The netsuke has some discolouration.
