4.85m unused zanshi cotton
This is a very unusual piece of early - mid 20th century unused handwoven cotton. It measures 35.5cm x 4.8m and is in excellent condition. Zanshi textiles are woven using leftover thread - usually in the weft - creating an irregular pattern. The indigo, grey and white striped warp is quite unusual and very beautiful! The indigo stripe is an irregular kasuri pattern also using leftover threads.
